Family Therapy
In all cultures, the family imprints its members with selfhood. Human experience of identity has two elements; a sense of belonging and a sense of being separate. The laboratory in which these ingredients are mixed and dispensed is the family, the matrix of identity - Salvador Minuchin
Family therapy can be supportive for any family navigating big changes, such as divorce, family blending, grief and loss, illness, and supporting a family member with a mental health or substance abuse challenge. It is also helpful for families who are grappling with parenting challenges, teen/child anxiety or depression, persistent conflict, communication failures, or feelings of disconnections. Family therapy provides a space for each family member to be heard, to address patterns of comm;unication and dynamics that contribute to tension, disconnection, and conflict, and to address, collaboratively problem-solve, and practice new, more empathic and resilient ways of relating which increases safety, belonging, support, and closeness for every member of the family.
